What is a Discipleship Training School?
YWAM Discipleship Training Schools aim to prepare messengers of the Gospel, helping people to ‘Know God’ personally. The goal is to form Christian character, after God’s own heart, while establishing Biblical relationships between the student and God, and between the student and his/her family and friends.

The emphasis is on developing a daily walk with God rather than to accumulate information.

Basic Structure (lecture phase & outreach)
The school is a ‘live-in’ 22 week school that is arranged in two parts: 12 weeks of class room teaching, followed by 10 weeks in active evangelism in a cross-cultural setting.

The lectures provide depth, and the small groups and specific counsel furthers the application of Grace and Truth to individual’s lives.

The Field Assignment or Outreach primarily takes place in Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. We also visit other overseas locations periodically.

Why we have different types of DTS themes / flavours
The idea of attracting surfers, skaters, outdoor adventurers, and music and worshippers is to provide a place for like-minded young people to gather to participate in the DTS. And along the way enjoy some form of surfing, skating, outdoor activities or music and worship.
